Covid, Mail, and Email

Open red mailbox on covid virus backgroundAs you may have experienced first hand with your holiday mailings, the Covid pandemic has taken its toll on the United States Postal Service (USPS). Unprecedented volumes of mail and staffing challenges are causing delays in postal deliveries, with many reporting deliveries taking weeks and sometimes months to go through.

Businesses and individuals across Virginia are being impacted by these delays and Mutual Assurance and its members are no exception. Some statements are arriving late to policyholders, and we are seeing an increase in the number of late payments received.

In response to this interruption, Mutual Assurance remains committed to serving you, and our team stands ready to assist as we navigate this obstacle together.

Member Portal

We’d like to remind you that you can use our Member Portal at any time to view billing information, make a payment, and sign up for our paperless option. Additionally, you may access policy documents or view a claim status here. If you have not previously used the Member Portal, signing-up is quick and easy. Click here to register.

Your Email Address

We realize many of our members prefer to keep receiving their anniversary packet and invoice by mail and have not chosen to go paperless. While doing business with us online reduces costs to The Society, which can result in lower annual assessments, we understand that having a paper copy works better for some members.

If you have elected to continue to receive your statements by mail, we would like to ask that you make sure you have an email on file with us to alert you to any other important information in a timely and efficient manner. If Covid has taught us anything, it is to be prepared for all contingencies. Being able to reach you quickly and efficiently is essential in times of crisis or should there be an interruption in business operations.

Currently, we use our member email addresses to send our monthly newsletter (which you can opt-out of at any time), crisis management bulletins, or other urgent messages. We will not use your email to spam your inbox or swamp you with messages, and we never share our member information with outside entities.

You can provide or verify your email with us in one of three ways:

Email us at service@mutual-assurance.com and include your policy number
Call us at 804.355.1794 and speak with your representative
Log in or register on the Member Portal and verify your address there
