Mutual’s John Case Wins Prestigious Industry Award
Since 1970, NAMIC (the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies) has honored 208 individual members with the Champions of Industry Service Award. This award recognizes those who have provided noteworthy or commendable accomplishments that benefit the industry through participation in NAMIC or other industry trade associations in significant industry or community endeavors or activities.
Service Award winners are nominated by their peers and are normally recognized on stage at the Annual Convention, but with COVID-19 concerns this year, honorees like John will be honored at the virtual event.
John Case was Secretary/Treasurer of Mutual Assurance Society for 32 years. He is also the recently retired executive secretary and treasurer of VAMIC (the Virginia Association of Mutual Insurance Companies), a role he held for over 25 years. During his tenure at VAMIC, John planned meetings, managed financials and carried out many other tasks that helped make VAMIC run successfully.
John was also active with NAMIC and served on its Advisory Council for 16 years. He also participated in the associations Congressional Contact Program and regularly attended and was involved in the Annual Convention.
John was nominated by Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia President Jeff Wrobel and by VAMIC. As one nomination form stated, “John has faithfully carried the Virginia flag in convention opening ceremonies for as long as anyone can remember.” At testament to his commitment to Virginia homeowners and Mutual Assurance Society members.
